The family business Sar Petfood was founded in 1994, but the origins of Sar Petfood go back much further. In the 1980s, father van der Sar was a butcher in Almelo. With the idea of making a healthy snack for his dog, he started processing and drying offal himself at home.
As his products became more and more famous, he moved his production to premises in Almelo. Both sons and daughter – Han, Pieter and Lizette – helped in the business from a young age. This means that Han and Pieter have a lifetime of experience within the production process. They therefore know better than anyone else how to make a healthy and quality dog snack!
Sar Petfood has grown into one of the largest producers of dog snacks and suppliers for various wholesalers in the Netherlands and Europe. The company offers a wide range of more than 250 products.

As his products became more and more famous, he moved his production to premises in Almelo. Both sons and daughter – Han, Pieter and Lizette – helped in the business from a young age. This means that Han and Pieter have a lifetime of experience within the production process. They therefore know better than anyone else how to make a healthy and quality dog snack!
Sar Petfood has grown into one of the largest producers of dog snacks and suppliers for various wholesalers in the Netherlands and Europe. The company offers a wide range of more than 250 products.
We can proudly say that our products are on the shelves internationally, and we supply more than twenty different countries in Europe.
How do we proceed?
We produce most of our snacks ourselves. We receive slaughter products from certified slaughterhouses. We dry these slaughter products into a delicious snack. After the drying process the products are stored in our warehouse.
After receiving your order we pack the best snacks! Because we produce our own snacks ourselves, we can continuously offer a high quality product. In addition, the best products are selected and packed per client. If desired, we can also provide the packaging with labels! After packing, the products are shipped via a carrier or our own driver.
Developments
As a company and with an eye to the future, we try to develop ourselves as much as possible. In recent years this has manifested itself in a completely new warehouse.
In the past year our warehouse has grown into a storage building with over 1000 pallet spaces. In addition, we have had a completely new ventilation system and insulation installed to ensure the best environment for our snacks.

Our mission is to make the best snacks for our own four-legged friends! We therefore produce high quality dog snacks made from 100% natural ingredients. This means that we do not use preservatives or other chemical additives. In addition, our snacks are completely free of gluten. Our snacks are therefore a delicious reward for every four-legged friend!
